We invite you to be a part of Career Discovery 2019 at Trenholm State!
Eighth grade students from public, private, and home schools will explore a hands-on career exploration event to include eleven clusters.
Central AlabamaWorks, Region 5 (Autauga, Bullock, Chambers, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Perry, Russell, and Tallapoosa counties) has a diverse and unique set of industries, businesses, non-profits, and career opportunities. On April 4-5, 2019, Central AlabamaWorks will present its annual career exploration event, Career Discovery, at the Trenholm State campus.
Each career cluster will offer interactive, hands-on activities that allow students to examine particular jobs, courses of study, and career fields. During previous Career Discovery Expos, students have explored Energy and Utilities by riding a bike to power lights, music, and a bubble machine. They have experimented with Architecture and Construction by drafting plans for a bridge or building a brick wall. They have personally experienced Communication and Technology by reading the news or weather in front of a camera. Make plans to join us in April to find out what interactive activities will be available at the Career Expo.
Each student will receive a Career Discovery Student Guide, containing information on what it takes for career success and an introduction to our eleven career clusters.
Upon completion of Career Discovery, students will have career alternatives to consider when developing their career portfolios.
