Welcome to Trenholm State!
To enhance your experience, we offer Student Orientation, Advisement, and Registration (SOAR). S.O.A.R. allows you to learn about the college’s services, resources, and involvement opportunities. You will also participate in academic advising and register for FALL classes.

Information will be provided on essentials such as financial aid, tuition, parking decals, ID's, services and student organizations. It is strongly recommended that all freshmen attend a S.O.A.R. session. If you are unable to attend, you will register for classes during posted registration dates with your assigned academic advisor. For more information, contact Valerie Allen-Porterfield at 334-420-4464, or email or JaCorey Calloway at 334-420-4326, or email

Prior to attending S.O.A.R.:

1. Be sure to complete the admissions process starting with the online application for general admission, submit a copy of your unexpired State ID, and OFFICIAL high school transcripts, or GED.

2. Complete the financial aid ( application (if applicable) and financial aid counseling prior to attending S.O.A.R. sessions to ensure that no other documents are required for verification. Tuition is due at the time of class registration.

3. New college students must have ACCUPLACER scores prior to registering for classes unless they are Exempt.  Please see the Exemption and Placement page for additional information. If the ACCUPLACER test is required, testing should be completed prior to the start of the S.O.A.R session. Please refer to the Placement Testing page for additional information, testing dates, times and location.

Transfer students and students with dual-enrollment credit must have all official high school and college transcript(s) sent to the Trenholm State Office of Admissions prior to attending the SOAR session.
