Trenholm State Foundation Scholarships
The Trenholm State Community College (TSCC) Foundation offers scholarship opportunities to Trenholm State students through generous donations from our faculty, staff and community partners. These scholarships are designed to help students achieve their educational and career aspirations by providing financial assistance for tuition, books, and other academic and financial needs. Scholarships are typically awarded for one academic year or term, unless otherwise specified.

Resilience Personal Emergency Assistance Grant– In Memory of Beverly Ross
The TSCC Foundation is dedicated to supporting Trenholm State students in good academic standing who encounter unexpected financial hardships. This one-time grant provides emergency assistance for temporary job loss, income instability, essential needs (food, transportation), utility bill emergencies, and childcare disruptions.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a Trenholm State student in good academic standing
- Must provide supporting documentation of financial hardship
- Must complete a financial literacy course
- Approval is not guaranteed
Award amount: up to $500
Rashad Montel McClaney Memorial Book Scholarship
This scholarship is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Rashad Montel McClaney, a proud Trenholm State Community College graduate. Rashad earned an associate degree in applied technology and electrical technology in 2014. He was a skilled electrician in Montgomery, Alabama.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Enrolling at Trenholm State Community College.
- Be a resident of Alabama’s Black Belt Region.
- Have experienced the loss of a parent or sibling due to violence
- Have a high school GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Application Requirements:
- Provide official documentation confirming the death of the parent or sibling.
- Submit a 250-400-word essay describing how the loss of your loved one has inspired you to honor their memory and create a positive impact in your community.
Trenholm State Foundation Catalyst For Excellence Scholarship
Empower the academic journey of two exceptional TSCC students, fostering academic excellence and a culture of achievement. This scholarship, awarded annually, will be provided to an individual with a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale, with a preference for those enrolled in Academics for transfer or CTE programs.
Covers: Tuition, Fees, Books and Supplies
Award Amount: $6,000 ($3,000 Fall /Spring semester)
The A.L. Molina and HC Trenholm Perseverance Academic Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial support to a student enrolled in a credit program who demonstrates perseverance toward their academic goals. To be eligible, applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester.
Award Amount: Up to $1000 for the duration of the program.
The A.L. Molina and HC Trenholm Workforce Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship offers financial assistance to a student enrolled in a workforce development program who demonstrates outstanding performance in the classroom and dedication to their field . To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in a workforce development program and exhibit excellence throughout their academic experience.
Award Amount: Up to $1000 for the duration of the program. He was a skilled electrician in Montgomery, Alabama
Trenholm State Foundation Scholarship Application Guidelines
In addition to the specific criteria outlined for each scholarship, applicants must adhere to the following requirements to be considered for a Trenholm State Foundation Scholarship or Emergency Funds:
- U.S. Citizenship or Residency
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a registered alien. - FAFSA Completion
Applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for a scholarship from the Trenholm State Community College Foundation. - Official Transcript Submission
Applicants must upload a copy of their official transcript from Trenholm State Community College with their application. Transcripts must be uploaded electronically—no copies or unofficial transcripts will be accepted. - Application Submission
The application must be completed electronically. Applicants must upload all required documents with the application, including the official transcript. The completed application and attachments must be submitted by March 21, with no exceptions. - Good Standing Requirement
Applicants must be in good standing with Trenholm State Community College to be eligible for the scholarship. - Scholarship Acceptance and Publicity
If selected, applicants must be available to receive the scholarship in a public setting and consent to the use of their name and/or likeness for publicity purposes. - Fund Availability
Scholarships are awarded based on the availability of funds. - Employee Ineligibility
Employees of Trenholm State Community College are not eligible to receive Foundation scholarships. - Selection Process
Scholarship recipients are selected based on recommendations from the Trenholm State Community College and the Trenholm State Foundation Scholarship Committee. - Non-Disclosure of Denial
The Foundation, its representatives, and members of the Scholarship Committee are not obligated to disclose reasons for scholarship denial.

This one-time financial assistance addresses temporary job loss, income instability, essential needs (food, transportation), utility bill emergencies, and childcare disruptions. Applicants must submit the necessary supporting documentation to complete a financial literacy course. It is important to note that approval is not guaranteed.
Award Amount: Up to $500
RESILIENCE GAP EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
Students in good academic standing, but at the risk of not returning or graduating from Trenholm State due to an outstanding balance. This one-time emergency gap scholarship covers an outstanding account balance of up to $500. To be considered, applicants must have completed a FAFSA for the academic year and provide a copy of their account balance statement.
Award Amount: Up to $500
TRENHOLM STATE FOUNDATION CATALYST FOR EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

HEALTHCARE HORIZONS SCHOLARSHIP
Support dedicated Trenholm State students aspiring to become healthcare professionals. Its primary goal is to offer crucial financial support, alleviating the economic challenges associated with pursuing an education in healthcare and allowing students to focus wholeheartedly on their studies and clinical experiences without the added burden of financial constraints. This one-time scholarship is specifically designed for individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment and potential in their chosen field of healthcare with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
Covers: Assist with the cost of supplies, uniforms, books, car repairs, and bus passes.
Award Amount: Up to $500/Semester.
THE A.L. MOLINA AND H.C. TRENHOLM GENERAL TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS
One scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in a non-credit certificate program. One scholarship will be awarded to a student for academic excellence who has maintained a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and is enrolled for 12 hours per semester. Award Amount: Up to $1,000 for the duration of the program

Support special college projects, new initiatives, students, faculty, and staff activities and programs, and the general support of the college.
