FAFSA Recommendation
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is not required for approval of a Trenholm State Institutional Scholarship; however, it is strongly recommended that all students complete the FAFSA. Completing the FAFSA helps determine eligibility for additional forms of financial assistance that may help cover tuition and fees that are not covered by institutional scholarships.
The FAFSA is also recommended to confirm a student’s citizenship status. Students who do not complete the FAFSA will be required to submit additional documentation to verify their citizenship status before scholarship funds can be awarded.

*Remember, NEVER pay for a scholarship or scholarship searches, even if it is only a few dollars. Some even have a guarantee that you will get a scholarship. These are usually scams, so beware. You should always avoid scholarship applications that require a processing fee. Stick to searching for scholarships through reputable, free scholarship search services. Also, be sure to ignore any emails you receive that say “You have won a scholarship” from an organization that you are unfamiliar with or have not applied to.
