Destiny Medinus Named 2026 New Century Workforce Scholar

Trenholm State Community College proudly celebrates Destiny Medinus for being selected as a 2026 New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar, earning a $1,500 national scholarship that recognizes academic excellence, leadership, and workforce readiness.

This prestigious honor marks the first scholarship of its kind designed specifically to support students at associate degree-granting institutions who plan to enter the workforce upon completing their degree or certificate. Sponsored by The Coca-Cola Foundation and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the New Century Workforce Pathway Scholarship highlights students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and a clear commitment to professional impact beyond the classroom.

Out of more than 2,300 nominees representing nearly 1,400 college campuses nationwide, only one scholar was selected from each state. Destiny’s selection reflects not only her scholarly performance, but also her leadership, campus engagement, and dedication to applying her intellectual talents in meaningful ways.

Destiny will be formally recognized at PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention, held March 26–28 in Baltimore, Maryland.
